It is well known among historians that the "Golden Age" of friendly coexistence in Spain among Muslims, Christians and Jews is a romantic myth. Bostom, who has written extensively on Islam, here presents a collection of selections from documents, starting with the Koran, which demonstrate that a dislike of Jews was built into the Muslim religion. While, like Christians, they are considered a "people of the book," Jews are castigated for their blindness in not accepting Mohammed's preaching. Bostom has collected an exhaustive number of documents to prove his point. The last section of the book reports on Islamic anti-Semitism today. While it is useful to have all this information translated in one place, a lack of context leaves the impression that this is not a balanced presentation.
