Divining that in literature we find the deposits of forbidden knowledge, this collection of nine exceptional essays pursues the theme of forbidden knowledge in canonical works of the Western tradition, from the <i>Hebrew Bible</i> to Boccaccio's <i>The Decameron</i> to Shakespeare's <i>Hamlet</i>.
