Aggrawal (forensic medicine, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi) deals with all eight major paraphilias mentioned in the latest edition of the authoritative DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) and devotes a chapter as well to paraphilias not otherwise specified. Most consider sexual crimes and other sexually deviant behaviors such as rape, bestiality, sexual harassment, necrophilia, incest, and telephone scatologia. One deals with trans-sexualism, which he admits is neither a paraphilia nor a sexual crime, but is included because it has so much in common with them. For each he discusses history, behavior, etiology, classification, diagnosis and investigation, prevalence, offender characteristics, management, legal aspects, and other topics as relevant to the specific paraphilia.
