Pioneered by Fred Luthans, the positive approach in organizational behavior aims to scientifically identify, measure, and cultivate positive behaviors and psychological states in organizational environments. Put together by Nelson (management, Oklahoma State U., US) and Cooper (organizational psychology and health, U. of Lancaster, UK), this volume provides a snapshot of the current status of positive organizational behavior research. Opening chapters by Luthan and others provide overarching models of the field, followed by eight papers addressing specific positive states, traits, and processes, including thriving in organizations, vigor, ethical leadership, political skill, forgiveness, and self-engagement.
