Brought together by a team of editors affiliated with the non-profit organization Health Alliance International, 13 contributions outlinine how corporate globalization negatively impacts the health and well-being of the majority of the world's citizens. Essays explore how the expansion of the neoliberal model of globalization has brought structural adjustment programs, rising debt burdens, and privatization of public goods, all of which undermine social health programs and infrastructure. Globalization is described as responsible for growing militarism, food insecurity, and lack of access to potable water. The underlying causes for the "globalizing" spread of malaria and AIDS are examined. A final chapter describe groups that are part of the global health and social justice movement.
