Award-winning author and illustrator Georgia Graham went there to look for the horses in the middle of May when they were still low in the hills searching for the first blades of spring grass. There she found fourbands, each led by a stallion rippling with muscles and jealously protecting his mares.  There were very few foals because their predators are many. <i>Where Wild Horses Run</i> tells a moving story of how one band of horses grouped together as family to protect a vulnerable colt from cougars – a story of love and dedication that will ultimately inspire children with the hope that there are still truly wild places in this world worth our protection.</div><p> </p>
