Pinto (educational leadership, Niagara U.) et al. identify 95 research-based strategies teachers in all subjects and grade levels can use to enhance, or remodel, their lessons to align with the Common Core State Standards. Strategies are organized around a present-apply-review model (which introduces students to new material and concepts, encourages them to actively engage in the material and concepts, and reviews their learning) and are prefaced by discussion of research and practice on what works with student learning, including engagement and constructivist approaches in meaning making, and the process of remodeling a lesson, either individually or in professional learning communities.
