Pérez (instructional technology, U. of South Florida) shows teachers and other educational professionals how to use the iPad to meet the needs of students with disabilities. He describes the accessibility features built into the iPad and related apps and how those features support one or more guidelines of Universal Design for Learning. He explains the concept of universal design, provides an overview of peripherals and accessories that can be added to the iPad to increase accessibility, then describes about 150 apps for learning and literacy, communication and social, low vision, auditory, motor, and executive functioning supports, as well as managing iOS devices in the classroom and challenge based learning with the iPad.
