Exploring the role of counseling within integrated school mental health programming, Shepard, a specialist in school psychology, Shahidullah, and Carlson show school counselors, psychologists, and social workers how to work with students who require extensive support within the secondary and tertiary prevention levels of positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) and response to intervention (RTI). They include only a brief review of school-based counseling at the universal or primary level of prevention.
