Anne Boleyn remains, for many, the most intriguing of the six wives of Henry VIII. She caused the king to break with the Church of Rome, was beheaded for reasons that are still being debated and was the mother of Queen Elizabeth I. In this biography, historian Wilkinson looks at the men in Anne's life. The title is somewhat misleading as some of the "loves" included are men whom her father considered candidates for her hand, rather than ones she chose herself. Wilkinson reviews many of the myths about Anne's sexual adventures and concludes that most of them are false, rightly concluding that much of the chronicle information was propaganda. In this book, however, the character of Anne never comes through. She seems to be a traditional pawn, caught in the politics of the men around her.
