Scott examines the behavior and psychoses of female serial killers who have either acted alone or in partnership with other women. Her analysis is based on an examination of the circumstances surrounding more than 100 cases recorded in the U.S. and elsewhere from the 17th century to the present. Particular attention is paid to the effect of gender bias in people's perceptions of criminal women. Scott teaches criminology at the U. of Ontario Institute of Technology.
