This bibliography of material on women in the Civil War provides a general historical and historiographical introduction to the subject and some 800 annotated entries arranged in ten topical chapters. Each chapter includes prefatory material followed by an alphabetically arranged annotated bibliography of relevant materials and URLs for material available on the Internet. Chapters deal with reference materials, introductory works and collections, and primary and secondary works on the various roles of women during the war.
