In what seems obliquely to be a doctoral dissertation for some an unnamed institution, perhaps in 2007,, Wardlaw explores the meaning and function of the terms Yahweh, Elohim, and El within the Masoretic Text of the Pentateuch in the context of translating the Christian canon into minority languages. He begins with a cognitive analysis of the meaning of the three within the Pentateuch--the Greek version of the New Testament--then analyzes the function of the interchange between Yahweh and Elohim in various Old Testament books.
