This collection of eight essays originated in the 2000 Society of Biblical Literature's International Meeting in Cape Town, South Africa. Eight biblical scholars six from Africa and two from the U.S. provide an overview and introduction to the issues, themes, theories, and practices in contemporary biblical study in Africa.
