White (psychology, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State U.) mental health professionals, special educators, and classroom teachers can help children and teens who have Asperger's syndrome and high-functioning autism overcome isolation and make social connections in and outside of school. She describes a variety of approaches drawn from research and her and others' clinical experiences for classroom, small group, clinic, home, and individual intervention.
