Brookhart, a former teacher and researcher for the Center for Advancing the Study of Teaching and Learning at Duquesne U., helps teachers and administrators improve K-12 assessment and reporting processes by showing them how to conduct accurate, constructive assessments that enhance learning. She argues that grades should reflect student achievement of intended learning outcomes and that grading policies should support and motivate student effort and learning.
