Women may be dominant in classrooms but not in education power positions. This two-volume set presents discussions of women, management, and leadership by multidisciplinary feminist educators and scholars. In v.1 focusing on women's leadership in higher education, Martin (education and women and gender studies, Oakland U., Rochester, Michigan) introduces 14 chapters that describe the ongoing struggle from marginalization to the mainstream for women (especially those of double minority status) in academia to achieve equity with their male counterparts. In a dozen chapters, v.2 treats women's leadership roles in K-12 classrooms, schools, and administration. Measures to redress discrimination discussed include understanding gender-based differences in learning leadership behaviors, working for social justice, personal courage, and mentoring.
