<DIV>Graphene has attracted considerable interest since it was isolated in 2004 by Nobel Prize winners Andre Geim and Kostya Novoselov. Graphene is a single atom thick sheet of carbon and its properties, such as the ability to conduct light and electrons, could make it potentially suitable for a variety of devices and applications, including electronics, sensors and photonics. Chapter authors in part one describe preparation methods of graphene, such as chemical vapor deposition and electrochemical exfoliation, while in part two contributors cover graphene’s properties, including electronic transport and photoemission. Concluding chapters look at the characterization of graphene using spectroscopy and microscopy and explore the applications of graphene in nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) and spintronics.</div>
