Three French mathematicians describe some of the tools of wavelet analysis, their application in processing certain signals and images, and their history. The origin of the book was a February 1991 lecture series at the Spanish Institute in Madrid by Yves Meyer, which was published by the Society in 1993 as Wavelets: Algorithms & Applications .
