The dawn of the atomic age was still glowing on the horizon in 1946 when McGraw-Hill published this anthology in which a number of well known figures argued that international control of atomic weapons was the only alternative to an arms race that would first bankrupt, and then annihilate, the human race. Among them are Niels Bohr, J. R. Oppenheimer, Walter Lippmann, Albert Einstein, and the nascent Federation of American (Atomic) Scientists. There is no index.
