During WWII, 17 Allied prisoners of war broke out of Pasir Panjang camp in Singapore and began an epic 2,000 mile escape from through the jungles of Indonesia to Australia, a journey of five months. Only two of the original 17 escapees survived. Author McCormac was one of them. His story of torture, atrocities, and amazing close calls makes this wartime memoir a gripping read.
