Authors Van Horne (banking and finance, Stanford U.) and Wachowicz (finance, U. of Tennessee) have written an updated 13 edition of their book which is intended for use as an introductory textbook and as a reference for financial managers. New and updated elements of the book include expanded treatment of corporate social responsibility and sustainability, a discussion of financial statement analysis that includes the trend toward convergence of accounting standards worldwide, cash and marketable securities management, and a discussion of Islamic sukuk bonds. The book is supported by links to PowerPoint presentations for each chapter and a companion Web site that provides self-testing questions, an online glossary, and Excel templates for a spread sheet approach to problem solving.
