In this book, Beaumont recounts how her husband Clive was diagnosed with Younger Onset Dementia at the age of 45 and died six years later. She describes her emotions and the many challenges they faced as they adapted to his progressive deterioration; the legal implications of his illness; applying for benefit payments; finding nursing homes; and struggling with her responsibilities as a wife, mother, and employee. Beaumont is a founding member of The Clive Project, a charity in the UK that establishes support for people with Younger Onset Dementia; she describes the project briefly.
