Editors from the London-based design firm Troika feature 100 artists and designers worldwide who use digital technology in their artistic endeavors, with impressive results. Light graffiti, a modified toy orchestra, a robotic chair, and the travels of life-sized walk sign graphics are among the works--many of them public installations--featured in the volume's color plates. The multi-page entry for each artist features a short biography and discussion of his or her technique, then describes the works or installations pictured. Concluding the volume are interviews with some of the artists, and short biographies of all of them (with their contact information). The volume is beautifully produced, with lots of color plates of works that exemplify the interactivity of contemporary digital technology and art. Not indexed.
