She describes here the main analytic methods used in bibliometric studies. She covers descriptive analyses, author production, journal productivity, scientific collaborations, and author and journal citation analysis. Final sections discuss miscellaneous considerations, among them impact factor and other impact indices, the Hirsch index, Scopus and Google Scholar, and the current position of multidisciplinary databases.
