Diels teaches the history of European printmaking at the Free U. of Brussels and is also affiliated with the print room of the Royal Library of Belgium. She writes in a lively style about print production in many parts of Europe in the 17th century and then looks closely at the three artists named in the title, discussing the economic and artistic contexts of their activities as well as the works they produced.
