Campbell (New Testament, Duke Divinity School) finally finds a resolution to a complex of problems he has been grappling with for a decade and a half concerning the interpretation of Paul's justification of God's ways to Man. He argues that a modern theories have misled scholars into an individualist and contractual interpretation of the epistles, and that Paul's writings need to be grounded firmly in the political theory and practice of his day in order to make sense.
