Ewin, clinical professor of surgery and psychiatry at Tulane University Medical School, has been teaching hypnosis at Tulane since 1970. In this work for beginning and experienced students of hypnosis, he collects his experience in 101 one-page entries of maxims and brief stories, grouped in sections on words, smoking cessation, pain, techniques, and miscellaneous pearls of wisdom. The entries highlight the workings of the feeling aspects of the mind, with an emphasis on awareness, dreams, and the freedom to experiment. The entries also offer brief overviews and discussions of psychological and medical concepts related to hypnosis. There is no subject index.
