Reflecting recent developments in the sentinel lymph node (SNL) concept, papers from the May 2005 Second International Symposium on Cancer Metastasis investigate the role of the lymphovascular system in the spread of cancer. Basic scientists, surgeons, radiologists, and immunologists from around the world present important developments into the biology and clinical understanding of cancer metastasis, describe the relationship between tumor microenvironment and proliferation, and define the process of lymphangiogenesis and angiogenesis.
