This work provides an in-depth review of the data relating to the management of renal tumors as well as a description of their pathologic and molecular classification, covering both medical and surgical approaches to therapy. The neoplasms covered include clear cell carcinomas, papillary cancers, nonepithelial tumors, and other mass lesions that resemble tumors. The management of patients with renal cancer having localized or advanced disease is detailed, and surgical approaches for primary and metastatic tumors, symptom palliation, and systemic therapy for metastatic disease are discussed.
