Freund has written ten short stories in order to entertain fellow lawyers and non-lawyers and to impart wisdom from his many decades in the profession to students and young lawyers. In each case, he has added commentary on the thinking and actions by the lawyer at the core of each tale. The stories are comprehensible without the commentary, he says, but not vice versa.
