This work examines the origins of each flag borne by Missouri regiments in during the Civil War, as well as secession flags from the period before the Civil War. From the massacre at Camp Jackson to the capture of Missouri's flags at the Battle of Franklin, such important events are rendered as context for the flags the companies bore.
