Roehrig (National Security Decision Making Department, US Naval War College) presents a collection of papers from panels organized by the Association of Korean Political Studies as part of the annual meetings of the American Political Science Association and the International Studies Association. The aim of the book is to make sense of the complex alliances and frictions that have dominated the Korean peninsula since the 1950's, and to offer new perspectives on the future of the region, the potential for military conflict and a new arms race, and ways to maintain peace and stability. Some themes explored include South Korea's 'sunshine' policy, anti-Americanism, and emerging nationalisms.
