These guidelines, presented by the Center for Chemical Process Safety, are part of a series of guidelines to assist those implementing various elements of a process safety and risk management system. Focusing on pre-startup safety review (PSSR), they describe approaches for the design, development, implementation, and improvement of a PSSR system to physical plant hardware, software, engineering, and management activities and documentation associated with operating chemical processes. The focus is on the chemical process industries, but concepts can be applied to the manufacturing world. The book is aimed at managers, engineers, and other personnel. The accompanying CD contains the text of the book, example checklists, an example management system procedure, and an Excel spreadsheet of basic checklist items.
