For significant sections of this exploration of the subject of equity and law, Falcón y Tella (legal philosophy, Complutense U. of Madrid, Spain) applies the three-dimensional theory of law described by Miguel Reale, which divides the legal world into the planes of the empirical "what-is," the normative "what-ought-to-be," and the axiological or evaluative question of the values in play, but she also feels free to abandon the theory where she feels it fails to address the complex multiplicity of the subject.
