Scholars of English and linguistics share insights they have acquired using corpora--bodies of text--in teaching English as a second language. Their topics include a critical evaluation of the contribution of learner corpora to second language acquisition and foreign language teaching, who benefits from learning how to use corpora, themes in Swedish advanced learner's writing in English, and using internal criteria to determine the aboutness of a text. Some of the studies were selected from presentations at a December 2005 symposium in Gothenburg, Sweden, and others were commissioned for the volume.
