American classicist Jayne L. Warner has collected 23 of Halman's (Turkish literature, Balkent U., Ankara) articles published in literary journals and conference proceedings mostly from the 1970s to the 1990s on contemporary Turkish literature. The first section sets the framework with a historical review of Turkish literature from the sixth century in Central Asia to the present.
