The Book of Enoch (which includes the Book of Watches and the Book of Parables) is a pseudepigraphic, apocalyptic work attributed to a forebear of Noah. While non-canonical in most Christian churches today (except the Ethiopian Orthodox Church), it is cited in the New Testament as a prophetic text, sheds light on Second Temple Judaism and the origins of Christianity, and is studied in relation to the Dead Sea Scrolls. This volume collects 22 scholarly essays on the Book of Enoch and related Jewish texts and traditions by Knibb (Old Testament studies, King's College London), that were originally published from 1976 to 2007. He places each essay in context and in some cases, refers to more recent publications. This volume of outstanding scholarship includes a bibliography of the author's publications.
