<UL> <LI>In today's market, lighting designers are frequently called on to “cross-over” into areas of lighting in which they may not have received any formal training, yet they are being asked to effectively light many types of subjects or environments.  <I>Lighting Design</I>  acts as a reference and exploration of not only the mechanics, but more importantly, the aesthetics and design approaches that a designer may follow when approaching a lighting project. Designeres will now have a solid reference of basic lighting concepts, an idea of how basic techniques can be transferred between different areas of specialty, and a glimpse into the unique aspects of each design discipline.  This text will appeal to theatrical designers who want to venture into areas of lighting like architectural or virtual lighting design, as well as illuminating engineers who want to move away from mere computational approaches in lighting and on to explore techniques along the design approaches of theatrical lighting design.</LI></UL>
