Written in accessible language for beginning undergraduates, this brief introductory text examines five dimensions of personal health: physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual. Each chapter provides definitions, presents at least two conceptual models developed by scholars and professionals, describes characteristics of healthy people, and presents a new model assimilating the previous models. Discussion questions are included. A concluding chapter emphasizes the overlapping nature of each of the dimensions to form a multidimensional model of health, and demonstrates the role the dimensions play in surviving college life and adverse experiences such as break-ups.
