Fifty-six international academics, researchers, and clinicians contribute 36 chapters to a revised textbook and reference covering the basic principles of hematology and the fundamentals of hemostasis. Following an introduction to clinical hematology, the chapters are organized into sections on anemias, white blood cell disorders, hemostasis, thrombosis, and laboratory methods. The revised fifth edition includes two new chapters in the laboratory methods section, one on quality management, quality assurance, and quality control, and the other on body fluid examination. In addition, summary charts have been added to the end of each chapter; a CD-ROM is now available to educators using the text; and a companion student website, featuring various study aids, is also available.
