Gluck's life in Ravensbruck women's concentration camp was a world away from her life with her family in America and later with her Hungarian husband in Budapest before the nazis invaded. But those lives became linked because although she lived in Europe her brother was the mayor of New York. How she was incarcerated for bearing a famous name is harrowing, and how she survived through that same name is amazing. Based upon Gluck's autobiography My Story, which has been long out of print, this edition by Saidel (Remember the Women Institute) includes contextual information and notes but keeps the spirit of this remarkable woman intact.
