The previous edition has been a welcome companion in classrooms for over two decades, and has helped many a budding pastor or classicist get through the arduous task of learning the language as it was written by ancient Greeks. Luschnig (classics emerita, U. of Idaho) has updated this edition to be more gender-inclusive and easier to use while retaining its attention to traditional grammar without any frills. She has designed to 14 lessons plus introduction to be completed in one academic year, upon which time the readers should be able to get through virtually any classical Greek text proficiently. She begins with the alphabet and sounds of Greek and basic grammar, then proceeds through cascading levels of difficulty in verbs, nouns, articles, adjectives, pronouns, adverbs and ever-increasing complexity levels of grammar.
