Aiming to make these primary sources available to students, Adkins (political science, U. of Nebraska at Omaha) collects 50 documents--letters, amendments, speeches, debates, party reports, court decisions, and others--to illustrate the evolution of political parties, campaigns, and elections in the US from 1787 to 2007. Documents ranging from the Constitution and The Federalist Papers to the Bush v. Gore court decision are presented, along with an introduction on their context.
