The excavations of the scores of tombs located west of the Great Pyramid at Giza were undertaken in the early half of the 20th century under the leadership of George Andrew Reisner (1867-1942), the eminent archaeologist affiliated with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and Harvard University; but tomb-by-tomb publication of the results had to wait for the early 1970s. The volumes in this series are produced in coordination with the Giza Archives Project Web site (launched in 2005), where lots more information can be found, but in a less organized format. This oversize volume (11x13.5") pertains to one of the six nucleus clusters of cemeteries known as Cemetery G 2100. Historical and interpretive remarks are followed by chapters on the major mastabas along with detailed 3D computer illustrations reconstructing views of the tombs from above and below.
