Following an explanation of the need for a new learning-oriented model of school leadership, the author introduces the four pillar practices of the model--teaming, providing adults with leadership roles, engaging in collegial inquiry, and mentoring--and explains how the constructive-developmental theory of Harvard psychologist Robert Kegan informs those four practices.
