Mahar is an interfaith, trans-caste community for battered and other women in need and their children in India, whose housemothers themselves once sought refuge there. Keepin (a scientist/spiritual retreat leader) and Brix (an interfaith minister) present an overview of this inspiring program and the societal problems--some unique to India, most universal--that it addresses.
