Now a Lutheran pastor in Wisconsin, Walck investigate how depictions of the Son of Man in the Gospel of Matthew and in the Parables of Enoch raise questions about the relationship between the two perhaps contemporary texts. Drawing from literary, redaction, sociological, and narrative criticism, he explores the meaning and origin of the term Son of Man, and the possible influence of the parables on the gospel. He covers dating, sources, and social setting of the Parables; then considers the Son of Man in the two texts in turn.
