This book provides a review of recent progress in continuous-variable quantum information processing and communication. The individual chapters discuss results achieved by the 2000-2003 European Commission project, "Quantum Information with Continuous Variables," and presented at the first five Continuous Variable Quantum Information Processing conferences from 2002-2006. Many leading scientists working on continuous variables outside Europe also contribute to the book. Chapters are in sections on fundamental concepts, optical continuous variables, and atomic continuous variables. Cerf is affiliated with the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium.
