In a guide published in association with the Panama Audubon Society, Angehr (Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, Panama) and two experienced birders present information on the great diversity of birdlife in this small country in ecological context, advice for birders/tourists, and descriptions of the major birding sites with species lists. The guide includes maps and a list of the 972 species that have been recorded in Panama and its territorial waters. The only bird photo, though, is on the cover.
